COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT)

Date of Common Law Admission Test: Sunday, 11th May, 2008 between 3 & 5 P.M.

The two-hour admission test would be fully objective type consisting of questions on English Language, General Knowledge, Basic Mathematics, Legal and Logical Reasoning, with the following break up of marks:


1. English - 40 marks                  

2. General Knowledge - 50 marks           

3. Mathematics - 20 marks
4. Legal Aptitude - 40 marks      

5. Logical Reasoning - 50 marks.

Eligibility: 10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks (students taking qualifying examination in March / April 2008 are also eligible to apply)

Age limit: 20 Years as on 1st July 2008 (For reserved categories - refer to the information brochures)

 

Procedure for obtaining of Application form and Submission

a) Off-line : i) Printed application forms along with the brochure will be available at the designated branches of the Corporation Bank and State Bank of India against the payment of Rs. 2,000/- only (inclusive of test fee and bank charges);

ii) Request for applications may be sent to the Convener, CLAT, National Law School of India University, Bangalore - 560 242, with a demand draft for Rs. 2,000/- drawn in favour of the Convener, CLAT, and payable at Bangalore.

iii) Applications can also be downloaded from http://www.clat.ac.in/. The downloaded application along with the DD and other enclosures should be sent to the Convener, CLAT.

b) On-line : For online submission of applications, visit http://www.clat.ac.in/. The completed and printed Online CLAT 2008 application form along with DD for Rs. 2,000/- drawn in favour of Convener, CLAT along with the enclosures should be sent to the Convener, CLAT at the Bangalore address.

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University [SIU].

It is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes of these Symbiosis institutes. However, it is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process.

SET Registration Procedure

Student aspiring to pursue an undergraduate programme at Symbiosis needs to follow the 3 stages mentioned below:

Step 1. Candidate can select both General and Design by registering separately and making payment separately. Register at www.set-test.org. This will generate your SET ID. For different modes of payment, different ‘Payment Advice’ formats are created. Choose a payment mode and print a ‘Payment Advice’ form online.

Step 2. Pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 800/- for General and Rs.800/- for Design separately if candidate desires to apply for both according to the payment mode. You have three choices for payment.

     (a) CASH

    • This ‘Payment Advice’ form is in three parts. Pay Rs. 800/- in cash at Axis Bank [ formely UTI Bank] branch in your city. Refer to the list of branches on the website. The bank will return two parts of the ‘Payment Advice’ form to you. The ‘Student copy’ is your receipt.

Sign the Symbiosis copy of the ‘Payment Advice’ form stamped by Axis Bank [formely UTI] and send it to,

·         The SET website allows a facility for online purchase of prospectus & application form along with online payment of SET fee for the institutes listed on the Screen. The Institutes participating in Online Sale of prospectus are:

  • Bring the Admit card with photograph pasted on it to the Test Center in addition to a photo-identity. An acceptable photo identity is any one of the following:       

        Passport
        Driving license
        College / Institute identity card
        Credit card with photograph.
  • At the time of the written test, it is mandatory to produce the photo identity as described here. Symbiosis Authorized Person will verify and authenticate your Admit Card against the photo-id.
  • Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further selection processes of individual Institutes.

Applications are available only in the online format. It will be available at website www.christcollege.edu from February 14, 2008 until 8 pm of May 10, 2008 .

All candidates seeking admission to Christ College should apply through the following steps:

Download the SBI Application Fee Challan from the link given in Step 5.

Step 2

 

Fill-in all fields in the downloaded SBI Application Fee Challan and prepare two photocopies of the same before submitting to the bank.

Step 8

Once the above information is entered, you will be led to the next page and you should fill-in correct information in all the required fields of the Online Application Form.

 

Step 9:

Once all required fields are filled, you will get a preview page and then Click the
'Submit/Ok'. And print the filled-in application form as appeared on the screen.

Send the following supporting documents in A4 size envelope only to:

B.A.  LL.B (Hons.) 5 Year Integrated Degree Course

 

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), a statutory University established by Act 27/2005 of the Kerala Legislature and functioning at Kaloor in the heart of Kochi, invites applications for admission to the 5 years B.A. LL.B (Hons.) Degree Course.

 

Eligibility: A pass in the Higher Secondary Examination of the Government of Kerala or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with not less than 50% of the aggregate marks and 50% of marks in the Entrance Test held by the University. Scheduled Casts/Tribe candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5%.  Candidates who have appeared/are appearing and awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

 

How to apply:  Prospectus and application form can be had from the office of the University on payment of Rs. 750/- by cash or DD drawn on any Schedule Bank in favour of the “National University of Advanced Legal Studies”, payable at Ernkulam. For applicants belonging to SC/ST, the cost of Prospectus and Application form shall be Rs. 375/- on production of proof of community. Application can also be had by post by sending a DD for Rs.800/- for general candidates and Rs.425/- for SC/ST candidates. Application and Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.nuals.ac.in  In such cases, the filled in application should be accompanied by a DD for Rs.750/- (Rs 375/- for SC/ST) drawn in favour of NUALS payable at Ernakulam. Completed applications should reach NUALS office on or before 03.05.2008 (05.00 P.M.)

 

Out of 65 seats, 5 seats are reserved for candidates from outside Kerala State. Reservation for Seats for SC/ST Backward and other Backward Classes shall be as prevalent for the professional courses in the State. Seats are reserved for PH candidates also.

 

Entrance Test: The entrance Test shall be conducted at Thiruvanathapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode, New Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore on 17.5.2008. It will be of 3 hours’ duration. The test will be held at 68 centers throughout India.
